Because I not so secretly love film more than fashion…. the dog seen in the car of “A Single Man” is Tom Ford’s dog. AND, surprisingly, Ford did not design the film’s costumes (which I find so difficult to believe!).

Random fact: Tom Ford’s first show under his own label featured many celebrities (duh I know), but not a single one asked to see a sketch of what they’d be wearing ahead of time – they trusted him.
Oh and his grandmother was married 6 times.

When Tom Ford was 14 years old, he was worried about the bags under his eye, so he went to his kitchen cut up some cucumber slices and placed them under his eyes.Minutes later his eyes started tingling and eyes became puffy. He was rushed to the hospital and they found out he was allergic to cucumber.(Totally funny story from an article about him on the Guardian UK)

Eeek, I’m really cutting it close with entering, but you know I *have* to!
I think my favorite Tom Ford fact is that he loves horses (and rides in an Hermes saddle, because obviously). Throughout my childhood and teen years I was pretty much defined by my love of horses, and it got to be a running joke when I started to get into fashion and beauty that I was a breed all my own (pun intended). Because who shows up at a barn in acrylic nails, red lipstick, and old jeans? But Tom Ford gets it, he knows horses and style can totally go hand-in-hand. And that he appreciates the majesty of the animal just adds to the many reasons why he’s awesome.

OK, fun fact, Tom Ford is allergic to cucumbers! He was rushed to hospital aged 14 after being in the bath with a couple of slices over his eyes… This probably goes back to V-s fact about him loving baths!
